Watercolor Paintings

I have dabbled in watercolor for many years but only recently took lessons and realized I had a lot to learn. Out went the Winsor and Newton pan set, in came tubes of gorgeous colors (I am currently using M. Graham paints along with some Daniel Smith and Sennelier tubes). I had to learn all about paper weights and surfaces. I had to give up using black as a “color.” Understanding how different pigments react with each other on wet or dry paper was a revelation. Watercolor can be very demanding and sometimes exasperating, but it is a rewarding medium and I truly enjoy working in it.

Most of my paintings here are from 2017 to the present, but I included a few older pieces I feel good about.
